The apostles have Roman names because many of them were from the region of Judea, which was under Roman rule during the time of Jesus. It was common for people in that region to have both Hebrew and Roman names, as a way to navigate the cultural and political landscape of the time. Additionally, using Roman names may have helped the apostles communicate more effectively with the wider Roman Empire, as Latin was the common language of the region. **

In Islam, there are no 12 specific apostles like in Christianity. However, Islam does recognize and revere the 12 successors of the Prophet Muhammad, known as the Twelve Imams, who are considered to be the spiritual and political leaders of the Muslim community. These Imams are highly respected figures in Shia Islam and are believed to have been chosen by divine appointment to guide the Muslim community after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. While the concept is different from the 12 apostles in Christianity, the Twelve Imams hold a significant place in Islamic tradition. **
